در پی تهاجم اخیر رژیم صهیونیستی به خاک ایران و شهادت شماری از فرماندهان، دانشمندان و استادان کشور و شهروندان غیرنظامی، کرسی های یونسکو در ایران با انتشار بیانیه‌ای رسمی به دبیر کل یونسکو، این اقدام را محکوم کردند.
متن بیانیه به شرح زیر است:

Subject: Urgent Appeal for Peace and Protection of Scientific and Civilian Lives
Dear Madame Azoulay,
As the UNESCO Chairholders in Iran, we would like to express our profound distress over the Israeli regime and United States attacks on Iran, which have resulted in tragic losses of civilian lives and tragically, members of the academic and scientific community have been among the victims of these violations.
UNESCO was founded to establish global peace and security through mutual dialogue and diplomatic engagement. The recent attacks on Iran constitute a direct violation of the very principles upon which this organization was built and demand urgent attention. Attacks on medical centers in Tehran and Kermanshah—sanctuaries of healing and humanity—are not only assaults on human rights, but also blatant breaches of the ethical principles of UNESCO and must be condemned unequivocally. Such actions undermine the foundations of dialogue, mutual trust, and scientific collaboration, all of which are cornerstones of UNESCO’s mission.
We are equally alarmed by the potential environmental catastrophes, including the risk of nuclear contamination, which could transcend borders and jeopardize the planet’s ecological balance. The continuity of international research and the spirit of cooperation are at grave risk, with repercussions far beyond the immediate region.
In the name of humanity and the principles enshrined in UNESCO’s constitution, we respectfully appeal to you not only to publicly condemn the attacks on medical facilities, academic institutions, and civilian infrastructure as violations of international law and human rights, but also to help establish preventive measures against more violations. Furthermore, we request the creation and mobilization of global awareness by documenting and exposing these crimes to the international community, ensuring accountability.
Madame DG, we urge you to act decisively—not only in words but in tangible measures—to protect innocent lives and uphold the ethical principles this organization was built upon. The world cannot afford silence; it is time to stand firmly against these atrocities and remind humanity that peace is the only path forward.

همچنین کمیسیون ملی یونسکو نیز با انتشار بیانیه ای این اقدامات را مصداق آشکار «تروریسم دولتی» دانست و نسبت به تبعات جهانی این جنایت هشدار داد.
